I qualified as a product designer determined to leave my mark and change the world. The small changes that I achieved should not, perhaps, be discussed in polite company!
The mindset of briefing in this design discipline, resulting in research on product demand and the expense of long prototyping and testing, really focuses the clients' attention! I still apply this mindset, thrashing out a brief with a client - “the devil is in the detail”.
Building enthusiasm with clients for their own products is best. Don’t like being ignored - but this is probably a creative thing.
